The vision of Teachers Inspiring Problem Solvers (TIPS) is to work with teachers and students, helping deepen their understanding of mathematics while developing the habits and characteristics of a successful problem solver.

Without exception, Teachers Inspiring Problem Solvers members (educators from the Pacific Northwest) believe that those students that can apply their mathematics to solving nonroutine mathematics problems have a deeper understanding of the mathematics.

Using problem solving materials aligned to Washington's and Oregon's state mathematics standards TIPS helps teach for depth instead of coverage.

TIPS members are all experts in creating, scoring, and collecting samples of student problem solving work.
